Architecture

The Observatory is a spectacular orchestrated balance of lightweight and heavy elements. The house has been designed as a long, double story platform with maximum north facing glass focussed on the coastal panorama, allowing all living rooms spectacular generous views. The design accommodates maximum use of light, casual, contemporary living places with enough scope and flexibility to sleep up to 11 people. Multiple indoor and outdoor living  spaces are provided. Indoor living spaces feature pale Tasmanian oak floorboards, toning with the sandy beach just a few hundred meters away. The charcoal block work is the only heavy element in an interior dominated by warm timber tones and neat white walls. The Observatory was designed by architect Marco Spinelli of Architects Ink.
